Building Minds, Shaping Futures: A Vision Made Possible By Sir Pius Ufudo Foundation.

Yesterday, I had the distinct honour of attending the 4th Annual Nnobi Secondary Schools Mathematics Quiz Competition hosted by the Sir Pius Ufudo Foundation under the sponsorship of High Chief Obinna Ufudo (Ochendo Nnobi) at Ifite, Ebenesi Nnobi.

This remarkable annual educational initiative is aimed at promoting academic excellence and cultivating a stronger affinity for STEM among our secondary school students. Through the generosity and vision of High Chief Obinna Ufudo, this competition has recorded resounding success since its inception.

With a prize pool of over 3 million naira, the competition has greatly improved the competitiveness of our schools in Nnobi while providing our children with a platform to showcase their intellect and academic potential.

This year’s contest was highly competitive, and at the end of the competition, Seat of Wisdom Comprehensive Secondary School, Nnobi emerged as the overall winner for the 2026 edition, while Community Secondary School, Nnobi and Zion Secondary School, Nnobi came 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The award for the Best Mathematician went to Miss Veronica Chidalu Udeagha of Seat of Wisdom Comprehensive Secondary School, Nnobi.

As a further encouragement to excellence and hard work, I will be making a donation of N150,000 to Miss Veronica Chidalu Udeagha in recognition of her outstanding performance and to inspire her towards greater academic achievements.

Today’s event once again reminds us of the importance of investing in education and securing the future of our children. This is exactly what the Sir Pius Ufudo Foundation continues to champion, and we deeply appreciate them for this noble contribution to our society.

We are fully aligned with this vision and look forward to future collaborations that will expand the scope of this initiative across the entire Idemili South LGA.

Indeed, Idemili South is rising from the grassroots to greatness.
