ANSIEC ENGAGEMENT ON THE FORTHCOMING LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION IN ANAMBRA STATE.

Yesterday, alongside the APGA Deputy Mayoral Candidate for Idemili South, Hon. Mrs Ifeyinwa Ejiofor, I attended an important stakeholders’ meeting convened by the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) at the Awka South Local Government Secretariat, Amawbia.

The meeting brought together candidates contesting for mayor and deputy mayor in the forthcoming 29th August 2026 local government elections. Declaring the meeting open, the ANSIEC Chairman, Magistrate Genevieve Osakwe, urged all candidates and political parties to conduct themselves responsibly and embrace issue-based campaigns throughout this electoral process. She reiterated the need to shun violence and electoral malpractices in order to preserve our democratic norms.

As part of ANSIEC’s commitment to a free, fair, and credible electoral process, all candidates were required to sign an Oath of Solemn Declaration Against Violence and Other Electoral Malpractices. It was a very productive and enlightening engagement.

I therefore urge all eligible voters across Idemili South and Anambra State to come out en masse on 29th August to exercise their civic responsibility by voting.

Vote APGA for continuity and progress and support the developmental initiatives of our indefatigable governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR (Oluatuegwu 1), through the Solution Agenda, which is building an Anambra that is truly a livable and prosperous homeland.

Indeed, Idemili South is rising, from the grassroots to greatness.
