ADVOCATING FOR OUR PEOPLE WHILE SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT.
In continuation of our commitment to ensuring that the welfare and concerns of our people are adequately represented and addressed, we had a fruitful engagement with the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Anambra State, Arch. Okey Ezeobi, at his office in Awka.
I attended the meeting alongside the President General of Nnobi Welfare Organization (NWO), Chief Sir Aloysius Olubialu, KSJI, and the Chairman of Umuagu Village, Sir Nnamdi Ojukwu.
Our discussions focused principally on the welfare of our people who have been affected by the ongoing infrastructural development in Nnobi, particularly the road dualization project. We specifically raised the situation of the three families from the Okagbue and Egungwu families who were displaced by the recent demolitions.
We are encouraged by the assurance of the Honourable Commissioner that the State Government is taking appropriate steps towards the resettlement of the affected families. This assurance is important, and we appreciate the willingness of the Commissioner to listen to our concerns and engage them constructively.
We sincerely thank the Honourable Commissioner for his openness and commitment to finding practical solutions to the concerns raised. We also appreciate our people for their patience and understanding as these major transformational projects continue to take shape.
We commend our dear Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR (Oluatuegwu), for his bold and visionary commitment to massive infrastructural development across Anambra State. These projects represent significant investments in the future of our state and are laying important foundations for economic growth and prosperity.
As development progresses, we will continue to engage constructively with the government, advocate responsibly for our people, and offer every necessary support and cooperation to ensure that the benefits of development are ultimately reflected in the lives, livelihoods, and well-being of our people.
