FELICITATING WITH OUR MOTHERS AT ST. KEVIN CATHOLIC PARISH, NNOBI
Today, in the company of the APGA councilorship candidate for Nnobi Ward 2, Hon. Chidozie Ezenwagu, I had the honour of attending the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) August Meeting at St. Kevin Catholic Parish, Nnobi, where I joined our mothers in celebrating this year’s August Meeting and appreciating their invaluable contributions to our families and community.
I was warmly received by the leadership and members of the CWO, and I sincerely appreciate our mothers for the love, warmth, prayers and goodwill they have continued to extend to me and to this Mayoral project.
As Pope St. John XXIII aptly reminded us, “The family is the first essential cell of human society.” This profound truth reminds us that strong communities and a prosperous society are built upon strong families, and at the heart of many of those families are mothers whose sacrifices, prayers, guidance, and nurturing help shape the character and destiny of our children.
In my remarks, I expressed my profound gratitude to our mothers for their prayers and humbly appealed to them to continue to pray for me and support this mayoral project so that together we can make it a resounding success.
I also reiterated the vision contained in the Idemili South Rising Manifesto, where the welfare and wellbeing of our people will remain at the center of governance. Our administration will prioritize initiatives and projects across education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, youth development, human capital development, and other critical sectors that will directly improve the lives of our people and create opportunities for a better future in line with the Solution Agenda of our working Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, CFR.
I particularly appealed to our mothers, as the first and most important guardians of the home, to remain steadfast in their responsibilities and continue to watch over their children. The rising dangers of drug abuse, cultism, delinquency and other negative influences require the collective attention of parents, families, the Church and the entire community. We must not allow our children to lose their future to behaviours that can destroy their God-given potential.
I urged them to remember to come out en masse to vote on the 29th of August during the 2026 local government election. I also implored our mothers to support APGA entirely during the forthcoming 2027 general elections scheduled for January and February next year to ensure APGA emerges victorious in the Senatorial, Federal House of Representative and State House of Assembly positions.
Today was indeed a very fulfilling and memorable experience for me. I am deeply elated to have been part of this year’s CWO August Meeting and to share this special moment with our mothers.
My sincere appreciation goes to the parish priest and the entire CWO of St. Kevin for the warm reception accorded me. I will not disappoint the confidence you have reposed in me.
May God continue to bless our mothers, strengthen our families, protect our children, and grant us the wisdom and courage to build an Idemili South that is prosperous.
Indeed, Idemili South is rising from the grassroots to greatness.
