1.5KM UMUAGU-UMUIKECHEM ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE.

The 1.5km Umuagu–Umuikechem Road in Ngo Nnobi now stands proudly completed and ready for commissioning.
Fully sponsored by High Chief Emeka Agbanari, MFR (Ike Idemili), this transformative project has turned what was once a long-neglected and challenging stretch into a modern, durable roadway. The entire length has been expertly paved with interlocking stones, complemented by well-constructed drainage systems on both sides to ensure longevity and resilience.
Work is also advancing steadily on the installation of high-quality solar-powered streetlights, with the foundational bases already in place. In the coming days, the road will receive proper markings and safety signage, further elevating its standard and usability.
This project was borne out of a genuine response to the longstanding concerns of our people, who endured decades of difficulty navigating this road. Today, that burden has been lifted, replaced with a sense of pride and relief, and the excitement across the community knows no bound.
High Chief Emeka Agbanari has once again demonstrated exceptional commitment to community development. Undertaking the full sponsorship of a project of this magnitude is no small feat, and he richly deserves the widespread commendation he continues to receive. He remains a true gift to Ndi Nnobi and humanity at large.
Ngo Nnobi is clearly experiencing a new wave of development. One driven by purposeful leadership, unity, and a shared vision for progress. We are fortunate to enjoy an atmosphere of peace and harmony that continues to attract and sustain impactful initiatives such as this. As we prepare to expand our developmental reach to a broader platform across Idemili South through the Mayoral position, it serves as both inspiration and a blueprint for us. Plans are underway to flag off additional road projects in Ngo and Nnobi in the coming months.
As the Councillor representing Nnobi Ward 2 in the Idemili South LGA Congress of Councillors and the Chairman of the Ngo Nnobi Development Union (NNDU), I have facilitated the following projects through stakeholder engagement and collaboration:
1. Ongoing construction of the Okenwa Crescent, Umuagu-Umuikechem Road, and the Chief R. N. Akusoba Crescent.
2. I delivered one of the largest community-driven solar streetlight initiatives by facilitating the installation of high-quality solar streetlights across twelve (12) major roads and several corners in Ngo Nnobi.
3. I attracted the full external illumination of the Umuagu Model Health Centre in Ngo and installation of a solar power system capable of running the entire Health Centre.
4. I facilitated the installation of solar lights along the Mmiri Obiaja Mmiri axis of Nnobi-Nkpor Road, a stretch once dreaded by commuters after dark.
5. I partnered with private individuals and groups to sponsor over 45 students for their WAEC examination registration in 2025, at a cost of approximately N1.5 million.
6. I also attracted the renovation of a 4-classroom block at St. Simon’s Central Primary School, Ngo Nnobi, amongst other developmental strides.
Some of the roads under construction will be commissioned in the coming months.
Together, through sustained public-private collaboration and in alignment with the Solution Agenda, we remain committed to delivering lasting infrastructure and meaningful progress across Idemili South.
