About Me

Profile of Hon. Oluchukwu John Ilogbenu (OLUTEK)

Hon. Oluchukwu John Ilogbenu (Olutek) is a purpose-driven public servant, community mobilizer, and development-oriented leader from Ndam, Ngo Nnobi, in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. He is happily married and blessed with four children, a family foundation that continues to shape his values of responsibility and service.

A graduate of Public Administration (B.Sc.) from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Hon. Ilogbenu combines sound academic grounding with rich grassroots political experience, private-sector management exposure, and an outstanding record of community service. His life’s work reflects a deep understanding of governance, people-centered development, and the urgent need for responsive leadership at the local government level.

Hon. Ilogbenu currently serves as the Councillor representing Nnobi Ward 2 in the Idemili South LGA Congress of Councillors, having earlier served as a Transition Committee Member. These roles have afforded him first-hand insight into local government administration, budgeting, policy implementation, and the challenges confronting rural and semi-urban communities.

Beyond elective office, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership capacity through his service as Chairman of the Ngo Nnobi Development Union (NNDU), former Secretary of the Nnobi Town Union Caretaker Committee, and long-serving leader within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) at ward, local government, senatorial, and state levels. His political journey is defined by consistency, loyalty, and the ability to build consensus across divides.

In the private sector, he is the Chief Visionary and Manager of Olutek Communications, a business he nurtured from a startup into a growing enterprise with multiple offices and staff. Hon. Ilogbenu’s leadership is best measured by visible impact. His achievements are not promises, but completed projects and ongoing interventions that have transformed lives.

Leadership Achievements

Through the landmark Light-Up Ngo Project, Hon. Ilogbenu delivered one of the largest community-driven solar streetlight initiatives in Idemili South. Against all odds and within a remarkably short period, he facilitated the installation of high-quality solar streetlights across eleven (11) major roads and neighbourhoods in Ngo Nnobi. This intervention dramatically improved security, extended economic activities into the night, reduced crime, and restored dignity to the people of Ngo. It stands as a proof to transparent leadership and effective community cooperation.

He also attracted the installation of solar lights along the Obiaja Mmiri Mgbo axis of Nnobi-Nkpor Road, a stretch once dreaded by commuters after dark. Today, the road is safer and security threats have significantly reduced.

Understanding that education is the backbone of sustainable development, Hon. Ilogbenu partnered with private individuals and groups to sponsor over 45 students for their WAEC examination registration in 2025, at a cost of approximately ₦1.5 million. This initiative removed financial barriers for families and directly invested in the future of Nnobi in Idemili South LGA.

Working closely with the Honourable Member Representing Idemili South at the Anambra State House of Assembly, he facilitated the full external illumination of the Umuagu Model Health Centre in Ngo, enhancing safety and emergency response at night. Through persistent advocacy and effective engagement with relevant authorities, he also secured the approval and installation of a solar power system capable of running the entire Umuagu Health Centre, ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services and protecting lives. To further safeguard this critical facility, he initiated palliative engineering works to address severe flooding around the health centre, preserving both the building and its perimeter fence.

Hon. Ilogbenu has consistently demonstrated his ability to attract development by building trust and partnerships as he recently facilitated the commencement of the Okenwa Crescent Road (Umuagu to Umuikechem), fully sponsored by High Chief Ikechukwu Azugo (Okenwa Nnobi), designed to meet modern community standards. Through collaborative engagement, he attracted the construction of the 1.5km Sunday Ajokwu/Late Emma Nwokoye Road, sponsored solely by High Chief Emeka Agbanari, MFR (Ike Idemili), complete with modern solar lighting to transform the corridor into a secure and vibrant environment.

Recognizing the urgency of youth unemployment, Hon. Ilogbenu leveraged extensive lobbying with government agencies to facilitate the enrollment and empowerment of over 20 Ngo youths in various skills acquisition and empowerment programmes under the Idemili South Youth Development Initiatives. This forward-looking intervention is laying the foundation for long-term economic independence and reduced social vices.

Hon. Ilogbenu Oluchukwu firmly believes that Idemili South must continue on the path of purposeful, people-centered leadership. What is required is not experimentation, but a leader who understands the system, feels the pulse of the people, and has a proven capacity to translate ideas into action.

His leadership is anchored on a clear vision of accountability and transparent governance, accelerated grassroots development, inclusive youth and women empowerment, strengthened healthcare and education systems, improved security and infrastructure, and a society that truly works for its people.

Hon. Ilogbenu Oluchukwu is a bridge between the grassroots and government, a tested leader with demonstrable results, and a unifier with the courage to lead and the humility to listen.

His record speaks loudly, and his vision is clear.
